Karl Boettcher has been working for Visual Image Photography since 1995. In 2000, he became the Photography Manager for VIP, where he has grown and trained a staff of photographers to meet their full-time and seasonal needs. During their seasonal peaks, VIP employs about 100 photographers throughout the southeastern Wisconsin and greater Chicagoland regions.
With a degree in photojournalism from Ohio University, Boettcher has been able to give back to the community by documenting Stars and Stripes Honor Flight trips over the last decade and Camp Hometown Heroes, two organizations that VIP is proud to support.
Boettcher has also been a regular presenter at KEMPA and several other local yearbook workshops, where he is able to share his passion for photography with the next generation of visual storytellers. In 2018, he was a presenter at the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention.
